Friendship After 11
September 1" shows a new era of amity between Pakistan and the United
States. It depicts President Bush embracing President Pervez Musharraf
for helping him in the war against terrorism in South Asia. Beneath
this, people in the two countries are celebrating the victory of peace
and hope: the cow and the lion (symbols of strong and weak) are
together.
There is an American nation that is friendly
and optimistic but has suffered from state terrorism and now wants to
live in peace. And there is a Pakistani nation that is happy to be
friends with this superpower, as it will open new opportunities and
economic hope to a poor country. There are also the mullahs, who are
oblivious about their own religion (Islam being a faith of peace and
love). They are the ones who misinterpret their religion and manipulate
the innocent public to commit violence in the name of jihad. They are
never happy with this friendship, which is why they are portrayed as sad
clowns at this occasion |
